Activity Summary

The Acquisitions Task Force added a section for guidelines closing out this fiscal year, and made progress on the following goals.

Progress on goals:

GobiAPI

We are still looking for a user of the API for ebook ordering, to hopefully determine whether ordering ebooks via GobiAPI is a viable option and to obtain an additional demonstrator for our session. So far, the following campuses have indicated their intent to implement the GobiAPI at/near Alma Go-Live (or are at least strongly considering it):

      • Northridge
      • San Jose
      • San Francisco
      • Los Angeles
      • Pomona
      • Sonoma
      • Chico
      • CSUMB

Also, it has been confirmed that the SDLC's Eddie Choy is looking into a system-wide arrangement for GobiAPI subscriptions. We will post updates regarding this here as well.

Tax scenarios 

Specific scenarios are in progress; we expect to post tax information by next week.

Funds & Ledgers 

Information, suggestions and examples for development of a fund structure in Alma have been posted at Funds & Ledgers in Alma

Acq Integrations 

In progress; page is available here.

Acq-CFS process 

Ian Chan has updated the Alma export conversion script to accommodate libraries with either 1 or multiple campus Business Units; testing of the script has been good.


Action Items

Next steps:

  • Identify additional presenters and schedule GobiAPI demo
  • Finalize and post Tax Scenario wiki page
  • Regarding the Alma-to-CFS group, testing libraries are now identifying paths of invoice files (from library to campus A/P) to inform the rest of the automation process being worked on by David and Ian.
  • Continue adding info regarding Acq integrations to its wiki page
  • Send out invite via the listservs to use the Slack Acq Channel for Q & A and discussions
  • Check in with Import Profiles Task force; see if joint meeting is warranted and identify ways we can assist
  • Create Tech Freeze Acquisitions task page to post ideas; coordinate with the list posted by Sarina and update; post on wiki or link to central list (Sarina's)
