Membership: Turner stepping downChris Lee (Unlicensed)Report to steering committee to see if we can replace him
Resource Sharing Request Task ForceJoseph Adkins (Unlicensed)
Testing ILLiad as last resortChris Lee (Unlicensed)
  • SLO is interested in implementing the ILLiad as a last resort option instead of cancelling the request and having the patron place the request via ILLiad on their own.
    • SLO creates accounts for people in ILLiad via Peoplesoft load so we would have to find out/document what happens to users who don’t have an ILLiad account
    • Consider users who have access to CSU+ and not ILLiad
    • In ILLiad we should probably not be routing requests through CSU campuses after it goes through CSU+
    • Can we collect data about how many requests get cancelled in Alma and then get requested via ILLiad? Joe believes that level of follow through indicates whether or not the patron “really wants” the book. Good way to do this somewhat easily is to look at some distinct text in the cited in field in the ILLiad when it comes from the OpenURL in the Alma cancellation letter and subtract the number of requests with that note from the total requests.
    • Meghann is concerned about user perception of CSU+ as a service if TAT is increased because it automatically filters to ILLiad.

Courier reporting

Arturo Mendoza (Unlicensed)
  • Complete Beta and release?
  • Update: after the last meeting Arturo was going to clarify roles between he and Turner during the pilot. Since Turner is stepping down from the committee Arturo has partnered with Carolyn to move this along.
  • Big question mark was: who do Arturo and Carolyn send these issue e-mails to at Tricor/Unity?
  • Mallory’s concern right now: we are losing pilot time as Fall semester moves forward so let’s get this moving forward.
  • Arturo and Carolyn will find time to meet with Mallory to figure out exactly what our next steps need to be to move this out and start collecting data.
List of replacement policies Astra Gleason (Unlicensed)
  • Mallory will post what we have to the Wiki. Astra will call the last 4 campuses to try to get information from them.
Update on damaged item workflow for borrowersMeghann.Brenneman@humboldt.edu (Unlicensed)
  • Meghann has a word doc to send to the group for feedback. Once she gets feedback from the group it can be posted to the wiki.
CSU+ StrategyMallory DeBartolo (Unlicensed)
  • Survey results - Turner shared results with Mallory and Chris this morning. No analysis of results at this point.
  • Mallory is going to work on this and run a draft through to the group. Will take a little while for her to develop.
October Release TestingJoseph Adkins (Unlicensed)
Astra Gleason (Unlicensed)
  • New October release includes Check for Duplicates When Creating Borrowing Requests which Mallory e-mailed to the group for discussion last week. She recommends making some kind of recommendation to send out to campuses about enabling this or not enabling this config. May want to develop some kind of testing process to see how it affects borrowing requests before the recommendation is finalized. [releases on October 7 - follow up after that].
    • Joe and Astra will test.
    • Need to write up testing protocol and identify items held by just these institutions for testing.
Rapid CSU pod
  • Since most CSU libraries already use Rapid a pod may be able to be created where a few smaller CSU libraries may be able to be added as “borrowing only” to avoid overwhelming them. - Meghann emailed Rapid - they said no “borrowing only.”  But Mallory has a different document that says a consortial pod can add small “borrowing only” member who only participate in that pod.  Documentation will be shared and reviewed.
