5minStatus of continuing INN-Reach participation

The group was polled regarding status of continuing INN-Reach participation.

10minSan Marcos Experience

Ian Chan (Unlicensed) discussed CSUSM Alma and INN-Reach Integration 2016-07.pptx with the group. There was a question about the need to completely withdraw from an INN-Reach network, in order to implement a DCB. For San Marcos, we did not have to do so. Instead, Innovative reloaded all records, inserting a new Alma control number with each record. Instead of implementing a brand new DCB, III shrank the existing Millennium system/database into a DCB system, allowing transactions to continue uninterrupted. The data loading and re-profiling did take several weeks, during which time new material were available for requesting.

10minNotes from Innovative roadmap presentation to Circuit technical teams

Innovative is very much promoting their API strategy and does not want to pursue continued development of NCIP features. Would very much want customers to pressure other vendors to code ti III's open APIs. They believe that NCIP is not well suited to a modern development environment.

However, they will still continue to undertake some development in the area of NCIP. Innovative confirmed that Visiting Patron functionality was on the roadmap for this year. It is limited though to institutions with Sierra. Renewal and cancellation functionality were not approved at the last III product council. III's internal product council meets on a periodic basis to review and select product enhancements. Tim Auger will put forward again at the next council in October, the request for renewal and cancellation functionality in the DCB.

API documentation is not yet available. SIRSI Dynix and Ex Libris need to be able to access documentation in order to consider developing integration for their systems.
