• LCSH Illegal aliens-- Please be aware that our approach to address this terminology problem only affects records coming from Alma. We have no control over metadata coming from the PCI/CDI.

• ELUNA 2020 proposal submission deadline- January 17th

• Alma January 2020 release

  • “Alma now supports phrase search in the simple search box. All entities and index types that have the option to use phrase search in Alma's advanced search also have this capability with simple search when using double quotation marks to identify the phrase.”  – from January 2020 release notes

  • Adding local extensions during imports- Local fields can now be imported into the NZ via an import profile that uses the NZ. See documentation.

• CZ: CONSER record conversions. Ex-L Knowledge Center.

Item material types

• The item material types for Broadside, Poster, and Archival material will be part of the Alma March 2020 release. Carole will make an announcement at the next Tech Services Open Forum. The types will need to be enabled in configuration. We’ll send out a reminder in March.

• Julie and Carole will work on an Alma item record material type dictionary, based on the definitions in the Online Dictionary for Library and Information Science (ODLIS).

ELUNA enhancement cycle

• Alma/Primo enhancement cycle- schedule is up on Confluence. Should we weigh in on resource management-related enhancement requests and/or make recommendations to the CSU resource management community? The group agrees we should review the enhancements and send out our recommendations.

Authority Control Task Force

• Call for members will go out 1/15/20 on the TS listserv and on a couple of Slack channels. Deadline for submissions is January 24th.

Headings enrichment at the NZ level

• Content option for headings enrichment enabled last month at the NZ level. Please take a look at examples, and report any anomalies to the group.
