Renewals for opt ins

Question via Slack: In recreating our Opt-In POLs using the NZ records, I am wondering how next year's prices will be pushed out to us? Does it have something to do with Jessica loading new licenses-- or is the POL renewal function? Will this be manual work by each library on their own POL? - Nancy O

Answer from Jessica: I have a very generic answer from ExL about how this will work on the CO but not on the library side. I’ve asked for more details on what happens at the CO end and what libraries will need to do. I’ll share the process when I hear back. Good question
  • Opt-ins are progressing with progress on EBSCOhost, ProQuest, and OUP collections
  • Renewals for next year are still a little uncertain, but Lynne Jones (Unlicensed) was willing to demo the library side of the process
Troublesome e-fulfillment issues

Details regarding a few different kinds of problems where appropriate fulfillment options fail to display on records in PrimoThere have been a lot of issues popping up with full text access from OneSearch including

  • Lots of records showing up that are actually for poster/presentation abstracts, not indexed at that level at full text provider
  • Primo seems unable to connect article level results to relevant full text services
  • Primo unable to display fulfillment options for journal level records that are dedup/merge heavy
  • Primo seems to find the right service (debug URL shows context services) but still not display full text links

We'll start a page that describes major categories of errors, provides examples, followup info

Streaming media

Someone asked in an open forum about managing locally purchased streaming media collections in the NZ if more than one campus has the collection. I'm not 100% clear on the details, but she mentioned that 1) some vendor records lack OCLC numbers and 2) she was concerned about people not seeing her holdings if she had IZ only records.

Because inventory will not live in NZ for local purchases, and because CZ records are still preferred for e-resources, we don't recommend loading these into the NZ.
