• Alma February 2020 release

  • Adding local extensions to CZ records

  • Since there is no physical inventory maintained in the Community Zone or the Network Zone, the Community Zone and Network Zone search options (icons / tabs / radio buttons) were removed from the Alma repository search for the Physical titles and Physical items search options.

• ELUNA 2020

  • Israel and Luiz will be presenting on our approach to addressing LCSH Illegal aliens

  • Lia Ryland and Ya Wang, both from SFSU, will present on doing ERM and Cataloging batch work using Analytics, Alma sets, and APIs.

• The ULMS Resource Management Functional Committee was awarded one of the Radical Changemakers awards by the Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success.

ULMS satisfaction survey- Resource Management priorities

• These two issues from the ULMS Satisfaction Survey results will be forwarded to the Steering Committee as the most critical for Resource Management:

  • More precise "match types" needed in Alma advanced repository searching for all search indexes (does not equal, does not contain, etc)

• Lack of clarity in Alma terminology – example: copy to catalog means two things, depending on context. "Copy to IZ" and "Unlink from NZ" would be clearer. – 4

• • Primo deduping vector could be refined to be more precise and avoid problematic deduping. Perhaps Ex Libris could collaborate with functional experts among its customers to improve

Authority Control Task Force Update

• The task force will be meeting for the first time soon. Israel will be attending their initial meeting.

Headings enrichment update

• Primo norm rules have been updated to exclude variant headings from the facet section, but a full renorm is required for all Alma records to reflect this in Primo.
