Subject line: Preview URL for EBSCO new UI

Please provide me with the preview URL for the EBSCO new UI. And any other information you feel I should know.” Note: include your account #

Your URL will look like this:

...

However, you will want to replace collection level URLs if you display the database in Primo.

For example:

...

When you add the new level URL, it’s not clear whether you need to select “proxy enabled” since the URL will be proxied.

...

Currently, this is what we do – add a URL and check “Proxy enabled” or we select “proxy enabled” at the electronic service level editor in the linking tab. When you migrate and update the URLs, it won’t be necessary to select “proxy enabled”. See below from EBSCO support case

Update July 2024: Support case opened with EBSCO:

We are interested in finding out what the expected procedure is for using EZProxy when switching to the new EBSCO UI, as we have been told the new UI URLs contain proxy information.

## Yes, the new UI will use the proxy based on the preferred authentication set in EBSCOadmin. The URLs will not have the proxy information; however, they will take the proxy that is setup under preferred authentication.

For more information on preferred authentication, please visit the below FAQ:
https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-up-preferred-authentication?language=en_US

Should we now set proxy to No for our A-Z database list?

## Yes, if you are using the new UI URLs. Let me know if you would like me to send the list of URLs.

In Alma, do we need to set EBSCO collections to No for proxy so as not to double-proxy links? We were told that there would be no updates needed in Alma, but if the new UI links include proxy information, how does that interact with our Alma and Springshare/A-Z settings for proxy?

## Yes, you will need to set EBSCO collections to No for proxy.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.

How do I create the individual URLs for the new UI?
