Mike discussed having a CSU library conference to support professional development in a cost effective way

Share with committees so they are aware of plan and can connect their work with it

Carlos highlighted the point of strengthening collaborations with other groups inside and outside the CSUs. Carlos also suggested a group for communications specialists. We discussed having more of a media presence. Connect with CO!

Campus updates

San Marcos: The Library Makerspace, called the “Makery” opened during the spring semester.

Jen will be retreating to the faculty at the end of May. There will be two interim co-deans. Jen will introduce them to COLD as soon as the second is named. There will be a national search for a permanent dean. The search committee has already been named.

Fresno:

  • Completed hiring for Dean of Library Services 

  • Successful 1 million campaign 

  • Hired a new TT librarian who will begin in June 

  • Creation of a number of committees to help with shared governance 

  • Refresh of technology underway 

  • Ongoing work to stabilize staffing needs 

  • Ongoing development to support various projects 

  • Hmong Legacy Project 

  • Whitmore Papers 

  • Womack Lecture (Book Banning)  

  • Working with campus National Coalition Building Institute and survivor advocate for listening sessions
